2. Data We Collect

We collect email addresses (for account setup, communication, and marketing), payment details (via Google Pay, RevenueCat), location information (to support app features, only with your permission), device notification permissions, app usage analytics via PostHog (anonymous data only), and in-app purchase history and subscription analytics via RevenueCat. We do not collect sensitive personal data unrelated to core app features. You must be 18+ to use the app.

3. How We Collect Data

Directly from you: during sign-up or when you make purchases, when you communicate with us or opt in to marketing emails. Automatically via: analytics tools (PostHog, RevenueCat), device and usage permissions (e.g., location, notifications).

4. How We Use Your Data

To operate the app: providing trip services, processing in-app purchases, activating subscriptions. Account management: notifications, transactional and marketing email communication (via Loops). Analytics and improvements: understanding how users interact to enhance your experience (anonymous data). Compliance and security: detecting abuse, fraud prevention, maintaining legal compliance.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We use Google Pay (payment processing), RevenueCat (subscription management & analytics), AWS Sydney (cloud hosting, all user data stored in AU), PostHog (anonymous usage analytics, Australia), and Loops (transactional/marketing emails). No user data is sold to third parties.

6. Data Retention

Customer records and transactional data: as long as required for your active use, financial reporting, or as required by Australian law. Anonymous analytics: retained for internal analysis. Marketing/Email data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

7. User Rights & Choices

8. Security

Data is hosted on AWS Sydney (Australia). Secure payment processing through Google Pay and RevenueCat. Access controls and regular reviews to protect your data.

9. Data Transfers Outside Australia

Most data is stored in Australia. Third-parties may process data internationally but are required to comply with strict privacy safeguards.

10. Policy for Children

Armchair Jetlag is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

11. Policy Updates and Notification

Armchair Jetlag reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will review this policy at least once every 12 months. If material changes are made, we will notify users at least 7 days in advance via in-app notification and/or by email.
